"D" SESSIONS - MORNING & AFTERNOON (All day starting at 8:30)

D01 The Working Mind (Employee) (8:30 - 1:30 with 1 hour lunch break)
Presenter: Mental Health Commission of Canada
Target Audience: All Employees
The Working Mind (TWM) is an evidence-based program designed to promote mental health and reduce the stigma around mental illness in the workplace. A TWM for employees offers practical knowledge to increase participants’ overall comfort level with mental illness. On completing the course, employees will be able to: understand mental health and mental illness, recognize its signs and indicators, in themselves and others, reduce stigma and negative attitudes toward people with mental health problems, support colleagues with mental health problems, and maintain their own mental health and improve their resilience. 
Modules: Mental health and mental illness in the workplace, Stigma and discrimination in the workplace, The Mental Health Continuum Model, Self-care, and Creating a supportive workplace

D02 CPI FULL COURSE (Non-violent Crisis Intervention) (8:30 - 2:30 with 1 hour lunch break)
Presenter: CPI Trainer
Target Audience: All Staff
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) provides your staff with the skills to safely recognize and respond to everyday crisis situations. Staff with current valid certification are eligible for the Refresher Session. If your certificate has expired, you must take the full course. Valid CPI certification entails having received training within the last 2 years. Contact mysafety@abbyschools.ca if you need information about CPI certification status.
